Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to Fattah Journal of Islamic Banking and Finance (FJIBF) undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of the published articles.
1. Initial Screening
Upon submission, the editorial team performs an initial screening to check:
-
Scope relevance
-
Manuscript completeness and structure
-
Compliance with author guidelines
-
Plagiarism check (maximum allowed similarity is 20%)
Only manuscripts that pass this stage will proceed to the peer review process.
2. Double-Blind Peer Review
-
Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.
-
The identities of both the authors and the reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process.
-
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:
-
Originality and contribution to the field
-
Clarity of objectives and methodology
-
Validity of data and analysis
-
Relevance and accuracy of references
-
Quality of writing and organization
-
3. Review Outcomes
Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial decision may fall into one of the following categories:
-
Accept without revision
-
Accept with minor revisions
-
Revise and resubmit (major revisions)
-
Reject
Authors will receive anonymous reviewer comments to support revision or explain rejection. Revised manuscripts may be sent back to reviewers for further evaluation.
4. Final Decision
The final decision to accept or reject a manuscript rests with the Editor-in-Chief, based on the reviewers' feedback and editorial assessment.
5. Timeline
The peer review process typically takes 4 to 8 weeks, but this may vary depending on reviewer availability and the responsiveness of the authors.
FJIBF is committed to maintaining a fair, unbiased, and timely review process to uphold academic excellence and ethical standards.
