Screening for Plagiarism Policy
Fattah Journal of Islamic Banking and Finance (FJIBF) is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity. All submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening to ensure the originality of content.
1. Plagiarism Check
-
Every manuscript submitted to FJIBF will be checked for plagiarism using plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin, iThenticate, or equivalent).
-
The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%, excluding references and bibliography.
-
Manuscripts that exceed this threshold will be returned to the author for revision or rejected outright depending on the level and nature of the similarity.
2. Types of Plagiarism Considered Unethical
-
Direct Plagiarism: Copying text verbatim from another source without proper citation.
-
Self-Plagiarism: Republishing one’s own previously published work without proper reference or justification.
-
Mosaic Plagiarism: Borrowing phrases from a source without using quotation marks or proper acknowledgment.
-
Improper Paraphrasing: Rewriting another author's ideas without appropriate citation.
3. Consequences of Plagiarism
-
Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism will be immediately rejected or returned for correction.
-
If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article will be retracted, and a notice of retraction will be issued.
-
Authors may be blacklisted from future submissions if serious misconduct is detected.
FJIBF encourages authors to check their manuscripts for originality before submission to avoid unintentional plagiarism and ensure ethical scholarly communication.
