Publication Ethics
Al Asri Journal of Management and Business Yapnas (AJMBY) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. Authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers involved in the publication process are expected to adhere to ethical behavior and professional conduct as outlined below.
1. Duties of Authors
-
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original and properly cite the work and/or words of others. Plagiarism in any form is considered unethical and unacceptable. -
Data Integrity
Authors should ensure the accuracy of data presented in their manuscripts and be prepared to provide raw data for editorial review if requested. -
Multiple or Redundant Publication
Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently. Submitting the same work to multiple journals is unethical and unacceptable. -
Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. -
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that may influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. -
Acknowledgement of Sources
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have influenced their work.
2. Duties of Editors
-
Publication Decision
Editors are responsible for deciding which of the submitted manuscripts should be published based on the importance, originality, and clarity of the paper, and the validity of the study. -
Fair Review
Editors evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors. -
Confidentiality
Editors must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial board members, and the publisher. -
Conflicts of Interest
Editors should not use unpublished information in their own research without the express written consent of the author.
3. Duties of Reviewers
-
Confidentiality
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share or discuss them with others. -
Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively, and personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments. -
Timeliness
Reviewers should complete their reviews within a reasonable time frame. If they are unable to do so, they should notify the editor promptly. -
Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors and report any similarities or overlap between the manuscript and other published work. -
Conflicts of Interest
Reviewers should not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors or institutions connected to the paper.
This ethical statement is based on the COPE Best Practice Guidelines for journal editors and reviewers. AJMBY strives to follow best practices in academic publishing and encourages all parties to act with integrity and transparency in every stage of the publication process.
